Everything you need to get started with StreamVox
Getting Started
Installation
On Windows, download StreamVox from the Microsoft Store; on Mac and iPhone, get it from the App Store. Either installs in seconds.
First Launch
On Windows, sign in when StreamVox first opens; on Mac and iPhone you can start without signing in. Allow access to audio when the system asks, and you're ready to translate.
Quick Start
Click Start, play a video or a stream, and see real-time subtitles appear. On iPhone, for sound playing on the phone, choose Device audio and confirm the broadcast when the system asks.
Core Features
Real-Time Translation
Translates speech as you hear it, with minimal latency, on your PC, Mac or iPhone. On iPhone, device audio covers videos, streams and podcasts: the system doesn't pass on calls or protected content.
Conversation Mode
From one source, Conversation mode works in 10 curated languages and detects the language of each line. On Windows and Mac, with a headset, you can also combine the microphone with system audio: each side then gets its own channel, and every language StreamVox recognizes becomes available.
Smart Overlay
Customizable floating window (text size, text color, window size) stays on top of games, movies, and apps.
Flexible Audio Source
Pick one source at a time: system audio, the microphone, or a single app such as Zoom or Discord (on Windows and Mac). In Conversation mode on Windows and Mac, the microphone and system audio can also work together.
Multilingual Interface
App UI available in 12 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Russian, Turkish, Italian, Polish, Korean.
Privacy
Audio is processed in real-time and never stored on servers.

Anime & Movies
Watch Japanese anime and foreign films with real-time subtitles. On iPhone, the system doesn't pass on the sound of protected apps such as Netflix.
Video Calls
On Windows and Mac, translate calls in Zoom, Teams, Discord and any other conferencing app.
Gaming
Understand VTuber streams, visual novel dialogue and, on Windows and Mac, voice chat.
Phone Calls
See live subtitles of the other person's voice in calls you take through Phone Link on Windows, or in iPhone calls you answer on your Mac with Apple Continuity.
Audio Setup
System & App Audio
Captures everything your computer plays, or isolates a single app such as Zoom or Discord on Windows and Mac.
Microphone
Use your microphone as the audio source when you want to transcribe your own speech.
Virtual Audio Cable
For advanced users: route specific audio sources.
Troubleshooting
No Audio Detected
Ensure your audio device is selected in Windows Sound Settings (on Mac: System Settings → Sound).
Translation Delayed
Check internet connection. StreamVox requires stable internet.
Overlay Not Showing
If it doesn't appear over a game on Windows, switch the game from exclusive fullscreen to Borderless mode: in exclusive fullscreen, Windows lets no overlay appear on top. Otherwise, check that the teleprompter window is open and on a visible part of the screen.
Low Accuracy
Background noise affects quality. Use headphones when possible.
