Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

StreamVox is operated by Aleksejs Giruckis, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("StreamVox", "we", "us", or "our"). You can reach us at founder@streamvox.pro.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and StreamVox that governs your use of the StreamVox applications for Windows and macOS, the streamvox.pro website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy at streamvox.pro/privacy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on the macOS App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app (see the End User License Agreement section below).

2. Description of the Service

StreamVox is a real-time AI subtitle and translation application for Windows and macOS. It listens to audio playing on or reaching your device and produces live on-screen subtitles and translations, and it can also read translations aloud using text-to-speech.

Audio is processed transiently, in real time, to generate subtitles and translations. We do not record or store your audio. To perform speech recognition and translation, the Service sends audio to trusted third-party AI processors that process it in real time under data-processing agreements and do not retain it. See our Privacy Policy at streamvox.pro/privacy for details.

StreamVox includes a "Medical mode" that is designed only to aid understanding, for example in a healthcare setting. It is not a diagnostic tool, it is not intended to inform clinical decisions, and it is not a medical device. AI-generated transcription and translation can contain errors and must never be relied on for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes decisions. Always confirm important information through a qualified human professional.

3. Accounts and eligibility

Some features require an account. You can register and sign in with an email address and password, with Google, or with Sign in with Apple. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when you register and to keep it up to date.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us at founder@streamvox.pro if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country of residence, and at least the minimum age required by the store you download from, to use the Service. See our Privacy Policy for the minimum age that applies to account creation.

One subscription entitlement is tied to your account and works across both Windows and macOS, no matter where you bought it. However, only one device may be active at a time. To use StreamVox on a different device, sign out on the current device first.

You can delete your account and its associated personal data at any time using the in-app "Delete Account" option. This option is available today in the macOS app and is planned for the Windows app. In the meantime, Windows users (or anyone who prefers) can request deletion by emailing founder@streamvox.pro, and we will erase the account and its personal data. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes the Apple token associated with StreamVox.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

StreamVox offers a free tier (approximately 15 minutes of use per day) and three paid, auto-renewable monthly subscription plans:

  • Pro — $8.99 per month
  • Pro+ — $14.99 per month
  • Unlimited — $24.99 per month

Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region and by store; the exact price and currency are shown at the point of purchase.

How billing works. Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically. Payment is charged to your store or payment account when you confirm the purchase. Each subscription renews for the same period at the same price shown at purchase, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your plan continues until you cancel.

Billing channels and merchant of record. Depending on how you buy, your purchase is handled by one of the following, who is the seller of record for that transaction:

  • macOS (Apple App Store): purchased as an in-app purchase. Apple is the merchant, the charge is made to your Apple ID, and the transaction is governed by Apple's media-services terms.
  • Windows (Microsoft Store): Microsoft is the merchant and handles the charge through your Microsoft account.
  • Direct / web purchases: handled by Paddle, which acts as our merchant of record and reseller.

How to manage or cancel your subscription. You cancel through the same channel you bought from:

  • Apple App Store: on your device, open Settings > your Apple ID (your name) > Subscriptions, select StreamVox, and cancel or change the plan there. Subscriptions cannot be cancelled by us on Apple's behalf; they are managed in your Apple account settings.
  • Microsoft Store: manage the subscription in your Microsoft account under Services & subscriptions.
  • Paddle (direct / web): use the subscription-management link in your Paddle purchase confirmation email, or contact us at founder@streamvox.pro.

Switching billing channel. Because one subscription covers both Windows and macOS, do not buy a second subscription on another channel while an existing one is active. If you want to change where you are billed (for example, from Paddle to the App Store), cancel the existing subscription on the old channel first to avoid being charged twice.

Cancelling stops future renewals; it is not automatically a refund. When you cancel, your paid access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it is not renewed after that. Refunds are covered in the next section and in our Refund Policy at streamvox.pro/refund-policy.

5. Refunds

For direct and web purchases made through Paddle, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid tiers (Pro, Pro+, and Unlimited): if you are not satisfied, request a refund within 14 days of your purchase by contacting us at founder@streamvox.pro or Paddle. Full details are in our Refund Policy at streamvox.pro/refund-policy.

For purchases billed by a store, refunds are handled by that store under its own policy, not by us:

  • Apple App Store (macOS): request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Microsoft Store (Windows): request a refund through your Microsoft account.

Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

6. End User License Agreement

The macOS app is licensed, not sold, to you. Your use of the macOS app is subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), available at apple.com/legal/macapps/stdeula. These Terms are StreamVox's app-specific terms of service, which apply in addition to that EULA.

For the macOS app distributed through the App Store, you acknowledge that: these Terms are between you and StreamVox only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app; Apple is not responsible for any product warranties or for addressing any claims relating to the app; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If any term here conflicts with Apple's standard EULA for the App Store version of the app, Apple's EULA governs to the extent of that conflict, but only for the App Store version.

7. Licence and intellectual property

Subject to these Terms and your active plan, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the StreamVox app on devices you own or control, for your own use.

StreamVox and its licensors own all rights in the software, its design, the "StreamVox" name and logo, and all related intellectual property. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without our prior written permission.

You retain any rights you already have in the audio and content you run through the Service; we do not claim ownership of it.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, or attempt to extract its source code, except to the limited extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • rent, lease, sell, sublicense, resell, or otherwise commercially redistribute the Service or your subscription;
  • share, circumvent, or abuse plan limits, licence checks, or the one-active-device rule, or use the Service through unauthorised or automated means;
  • use the Service to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to capture, transcribe, or translate audio you do not have the right or consent to process; or
  • interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or the infrastructure it runs on.

You are responsible for complying with any laws that apply to recording, monitoring, or translating conversations in your location, including obtaining consent where it is required.

9. Plan limits and fair use

Each plan includes a defined amount of use: the free tier is limited to approximately 15 minutes of translation per day; Pro includes 40 hours per month; Pro+ includes 70 hours per month; and Unlimited has no monthly time cap.

"Unlimited" is subject to fair, personal use. It is intended for normal individual use and not for automated, resale, or abusive usage that places a disproportionate load on our systems or our AI processors. If usage is clearly abnormal or abusive, we may contact you and take reasonable steps, such as temporarily rate-limiting, to protect the Service for everyone.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, cancel your subscription through your billing channel, and delete your account as described above.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you materially breach these Terms (for example, by abusing plan limits or using the Service unlawfully), if required by law, or if we reasonably need to protect the Service or other users. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will give you notice.

If your paid subscription is terminated for a serious breach by you, you may not be entitled to a refund for the remainder of the period. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including licence restrictions, intellectual-property ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — continue to apply.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

StreamVox relies on artificial intelligence for speech recognition, transcription, and translation. We do not warrant that subtitles or translations will be accurate, complete, timely, or fit for any particular purpose, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work with every audio source, device, or configuration. As stated above, StreamVox is not a medical device and its output must not be relied on for any high-stakes decision.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StreamVox will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in that period or 50 US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your mandatory statutory rights, including your rights under the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold StreamVox harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of any law or third-party right — for example, processing audio you did not have the right or consent to process. This section does not apply to the extent a claim results from our own breach or negligence, and it does not limit your statutory consumer rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service, our plans, or the law. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, give you reasonable notice, such as an in-app or email notice.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using the Service and may cancel your subscription and delete your account.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any such dispute. However, if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules and any right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, that the law of your country of residence gives you. Nothing in this section overrides those mandatory local rights.
