How it works

Live captions in three steps

01

Link your phone

On Windows, connect your iPhone or Android with Microsoft Phone Link. On a Mac, turn on Apple Continuity (iPhone Cellular Calls) — same Apple ID and Wi-Fi network — so call audio plays through your computer.

02

Start the call

On Windows, make or take the call as usual; on a Mac, answer it on your Mac. StreamVox listens to the call audio playing through your PC or Mac.

03

Read the conversation

Live translated subtitles appear on your screen, so you can follow the other person in your own language.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does StreamVox translate a phone call?
When call audio plays through your computer — via Microsoft Phone Link on Windows or Apple Continuity on a Mac — StreamVox turns it into live translated subtitles. It shows you what the other person says; it does not translate your outgoing voice — the caller hears you as you speak.
Does it work with iPhone and Android?
On Windows, yes — Microsoft Phone Link supports both iPhone and Android. On a Mac, StreamVox translates the iPhone calls you answer on your Mac via Apple Continuity; Phone Link and Android call audio are Windows-only.
Do I need to install anything on my phone?
No extra app is needed. On Windows you complete Microsoft Phone Link's standard setup; on a Mac, Apple Continuity just needs your iPhone and Mac on the same Apple ID and Wi-Fi network. StreamVox runs on your computer.
Which languages can it handle?
StreamVox translates calls in 49+ languages, so you can follow conversations with people almost anywhere.
Is the call recorded or stored?
No. The audio is translated in real time and never saved, so nothing about your call is recorded.
